NYC’s famed subway, not just a means of efficient transportation, is also an underground network of art galleries, featuring paintings, mosaics, and stained glass by local artists. Check out this unique subway guide that shows you which image will greet your arrival at almost every train stop.

For instance as you’re heading to the Museum of Modern Art, you can catch a preview at Fifth Avenue/53 Street, home to Fasanella’s 1950 oil painting, “Subway Riders.”

Let us know which is your favorite underground masterpiece!
