Canadian Kitsch

December 14th, 2007 by susan j

Leave it to the Canadians to bring the world’s largest snow globe to New York City. NewYorkology writes that today through Tuesday, December 18, a two-story snow globe will take up residence in Bryant Park as part of a marketing campaign by the Canadian Tourism Commission. They’ll also have ice sculpting demonstrations and live performances.

Now, I’ve seen some pretty creative tourism campaigns (strolling buskers with giant TVs strapped to their helmets come to mind), but this one sounds like quite a spectacle! If you happen to be in New York City this weekend, then check it out and let us know if it’s as impressive as it sounds.
