In-flight Internet May Cause Turbulence

Personally, I find that one of the great joys of air travel is relaxing with a good book without the temptation of email or IM. Bring on the weather delays, the overcrowded airports, and the airplane food (or lack thereof) - as long as I have Jane Austen, I’m good to go.

It appears that my carefree days of being blissfully unplugged at 30,000 feet may soon be ending, because several airlines are introducing in-flight internet. Of course, this raises some entirely new concerns, as the Associated Press points out. For instance, should airplane internet be filtered to shield younger passengers? Should flyers be allowed to use internet phone service? And what about those of us who just want to unplug and unwind?
