Shakespeare in the Park is the classic New York City experience. Thus, it’s fitting that the Public Theater chose a classic Shakespearean drama and a classic contemporary musical for its 2008 summer season.
Directed by Oskar Eustis, Hamlet runs May 27-June 29. Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical (a classic in my book), which is directed by Diane Paulus, performs July 22-August 17.
Both shows run Tuesday through Sunday at 8 pm at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Tickets are free and will be available on the day of the performance beginning at 1 pm. Check out the Public Theater’s website for more details.
