Toni Maticevski runway show at New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007 Photo uploaded by
New York City’s famous Fashion Week is coming up February 1-8. Although this week-long frenzy of runway shows and papparazzi is not open to the general public, you still get in on the action and feel like one of the fashion elite with a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Now through April 13, the Costume Institute on the museum’s ground floor features a special exhibit made possible by none other than fashion icon Manolo Blahnik. Titled blog.mode:addressing fashion, the exhibit showcases some forty costumes and accessories from the 1700’s to the present and invites visitors to share their thoughts online or through a “blogbar” in the exhibit galleries. Check out the exhibit’s blog to read about the fabulous shoes, accessories, and more!

Personally, I find that one of the great joys of air travel is relaxing with a good book without the temptation of email or IM. Bring on the weather delays, the overcrowded airports, and the airplane food (or lack thereof) - as long as I have Jane Austen, I’m good to go.
It appears that my carefree days of being blissfully unplugged at 30,000 feet may soon be ending, because several airlines are introducing in-flight internet. Of course, this . For instance, should airplane internet be filtered to shield younger passengers? Should flyers be allowed to use internet phone service? And what about those of us who just want to unplug and unwind?
Feel free to leave a comment and let us know how you feel about this new issue!
